Cranky Kate has been quelled
I hope. At least for the moment. With a little bibliotherapy. Amazon is my friend. Amazon.de is my cheap friend. It's free shipping AND I even get a little discount because I don't have to pay German VAT (Value Added Tax or sales tax).
I started reading the Road a couple of summers ago and never got to finish it, so I got a copy of that. And the new Philip Rickman and the Raw Shark Texts that was recommended by Lulu on her blog.
Exhale. Much better.
Oh, I have declared my 90 day no spend to be done and dusted. It wasn't quite 90 days but I did pretty well. I also haven't used my American Visa in over a month, so that's really something for me to proud of. :)

There is nothing wrong with bibliotherapy. In fact, it's really a good invesment: at some point in the future, you'll reread that (now new) book and be in a better mood or just be a better person because of some phrase or paragraph.
Or so I tell myself after spending some time at abebooks (my online bookstore of choice).
Oh, and I thought of you and Comfort (that is her name, right?) and the futon this morning when Cascapedia puked on my brand-new bedspread.
I completely agree with you about bibliotherapy and I couldn't have said it better! I love abebooks, too, but over here, I would get screwed on the shipping, so it's actually cheaper for me to do amazon.
Sorry about your bedspread. That's awful. It is washable, I hope?
I have no idea about geographical limits on downloads. I thought you were able to subscribe to newspapers and have them "delivered" to your Kindle. Surely, that would only be an asset if you could get it abroad, too, but I dunno.
Let me know how you like raw Shark Texts.
