glimpse of blue sky
Winter in Geneva sucks rocks. I've moaned about it before, I will moan about it again. I arrived home on the 5th of January and it was night-time. I did not see the sun until late Wednesday afternoon of this week and then it wasn't so much the sun as a couple strips of blue in the sky. You couldn't see the top of the s'Eleve for the cloud cover. Yesterday and today, there has been a bit more blue sky, and some actual sunshine. I just state this as a reminder to my friends who moved to (what I would consider northern, but they consider central) Ontario. And it's been cold. Not cold, like Deep River, but unusually cold for Geneva. I don't mind cold. I don't mind winter. Not thrilled about it, but it's survivable. I hate the grey here. The clouds just come and squat over the city for days on end. This year, to the point that one of the main dailies wrote an article about this was record breaking cloud cover. They had to go back to the fifties to find a longer stretch of grey.

I've lived much further north, with colder, darker winters and have never had my mood so affected.
