L'Oreal's Women of Worth
I might be a little miffed with l'Oreal at the moment having been not entirely thrilled with the color of my hair since I did it at Brogsta's in August (it was really dark!). I have been progressively less and less happy with my hair color since then. I have to color it one more time before getting back to Soon who I will also have cut my hair. She's been asking for a couple of years now to cut it, but I never agreed as I was happy with the cuts I was getting elsewhere. Not to imply that I am no longer happy with the cuts that I have been getting elsewhere, I just haven't bothered getting it cut. (Have you made my appointment for the 22nd, yet, mom? Please?! THANKS!)
Anyways, hair color aside, my parents actually know one of the women who has been nominated as a L'Oreal Woman of Worth. She's in her 80s now and still goes to Walter Reed Medical Center to volunteer (for my non-American/non-military affiliated readers, that is where our wounded soldiers go for treatment and rehabilitation). Her prize money will go to support Wounded Warriors which I'm pretty sure does what it says on the box.
Lina Czubas was in Garmisch at the same time my family was and since that's where I was born (okay, not in Garmisch, that's just where we were living, I was born in an Army Hospital in Augsburg, Germany), my family has known her for a really long time. My parents say she's "good people".
Vote for her, vote for one of the other nominees, but at least go take a look at the website.
Thanks!
